The colors are weighed according to the blend proportion specified by the translated chart.
Here are the proportions sorted out. Each package will make a stripe in the sequence.
The fibers are fed into the drum carder.
Here is the batt after one pass through the carder, separated crosswise into two lengths.
Each half-batt is divided again lengthwise,
And blended with one from the other half.
After two more passes for a total of three, the batt looks like this.
The batts were then spun into a fat singles. The knitting pattern is a modification of an Elizabeth Zimmerman pattern, found in Knitters' Magazine. A knitting needle size was chosen so that the gauge gave 360 rows to make the pattern to the proper measurements.
There was enough yarn left to make a matching tapestry bag.
